TikTok's New Creativity Program Beta, Explained
TikTok has launched in the US its Creativity Program Beta, a monetisation tool that enables creators to "generate higher revenue potential", after testing it in France and Brazil for a few months.
Creators from the three countries can now join the program by invitation only. It is expected to be available to all eligible US creators in the coming months.
"Designed to help creators foster their creativity, generate higher revenue potential and unlock more exciting, real-world opportunities, the Creativity Program Beta is the latest addition to our range of monetisation tools that support creators of all levels in being rewarded," TikTok said in a statement.
TikTok said it had developed the Creativity Program based on learnings and feedback from its creators, including those enrolled in the TikTok Creator Fund.
Those registered for the Creator Fund can immediately switch to the Creativity Program, while others can simply apply to the new program once available, as long as they are 18 or over and meet the minimum follower and video view requirements. At present, a creator needs at least 10,000 followers to access the Creator Fund.
"To start earning, creators must create and publish high-quality, original content longer than one minute," TikTok said. "Creators will have access to an updated dashboard to view video eligibility, estimated revenue, and video performance metrics and analytics."
TikTok currently has over 1 billion global monthly active users, of which 125 million come from the EU.
